Barton Kaye is a Belgian film composer based near Ghent.

Recent credits include The Birth of a Hysterical Woman (short), Lifecoach (short), A Brave Hallow's Eve (symphonic poem, recorded with the Synchron Stage Orchestra in Vienna), and Interview with History (VRT).

Before turning to film, Barton spent over two decades as a primetime composer for Belgium's largest broadcasters, scoring more than 400 episodes across drama, comedy, and children's television. His work has been broadcast in 70+ countries.

He studied composition and orchestration at LUCA School of Arts Leuven and Berklee, and has worked with orchestrator Conrad Pope and Emmy-winning composer Mark Watters. He has conducted the National Orchestra of Costa Rica, premiering his own work to sold-out audiences.

 

His music is melodic, orchestrally precise, and built to serve the story. Jury members at the Oticons Faculty Competition, one of the most selective film scoring competitions in the world called it "truly professional, competent, and well-crafted film scoring" with "dramatic instincts that work beautifully" and "a talent reminiscent of the masters of a different era."
